Inhabit your town. Wherever it is.

I’m Rebecca Thorndike-Breeze. I have a PhD in English and I love to read and write. The history of that sentence turned me into a bit of an indoor kid, and the effects weren’t pretty. One friend of mine calls me “a recovering academic.” Perhaps. Anyway, I am now under strict doctor’s orders (mine) to go outside and play.

In this blog, I write about my adventures. All of the pieces here draw upon life in the greater Boston area in order to jump into other ideas.

When I’m not roaming the streets of Medford, Somerville, Cambridge, or Boston, I teach writing and communication at MIT and I research and write about intimacy, community, and culture.
